Protecting your oral health through expert care

Dental hygiene is central to maintaining healthy teeth and gums. At Myton Park Dental Centre, our hygiene appointments are designed to prevent disease, manage gum conditions and support your overall wellbeing, all delivered in a calm and professional setting.

Our award-winning dental hygiene team have many years of experience successfully treating advanced gum disease, using modern equipment and gentle techniques to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible.

What to expect at your hygiene appointment

Every hygiene appointment is tailored to your individual needs. We take time to understand your oral health and provide care that supports both immediate comfort and long-term stability.

Your appointment will include:

A full assessment of your gum health, including measurements to identify inflammation or periodontal concerns.

A bespoke oral hygiene programme designed around your lifestyle, dental history and gum condition.

Advice on selecting the right toothbrush and interdental cleaning aids for your specific needs.

Full-mouth plaque disclosure to clearly show where plaque is building up and how to improve cleaning at home.

Airflow treatment to gently remove staining and harmful bacteria, particularly effective around the gumline.

Careful scaling to remove hardened plaque (tartar) that cannot be removed with brushing alone.

Where appropriate, we use Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) to help reduce sensitivity during periodontal treatment, making care more comfortable for patients with gum disease or sensitivity.

Guided BioFilm Therapy

Where appropriate, we use Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) to help reduce sensitivity during periodontal treatment, making care more comfortable for patients with gum disease or sensitivity.

Our Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) system uses warm water, air and fine powder to gently remove plaque and bacteria, making deep cleaning more comfortable for patients with sensitive gums or periodontal disease.

This allows us to treat even advanced gum problems in a way that feels calmer, more controlled and far less invasive than traditional methods.

A gentle, patient-focused approach

Our hygienists are known for their calm and reassuring manner. If you have sensitive teeth or feel nervous about treatment, we’ll always take extra care to ensure your comfort and adjust the appointment to suit your needs.

Every visit is unhurried, respectful and tailored entirely to you.
